Lazy Day, Lazy Boy

A pleasant day, with little to do. Rarely do I sit around playing computer games all day, but today was one of those times. Usually makes me feel kinda sick inside, sort of inhuman to be plugged in for so long, but this was Medal of Honor: Spearhead, after all, and it’s really amazing to be able to relive a role in Band of Brothers. I only wish my G4 was a little faster…

One of the things that I feel I’ll miss so much when I take off is the homey, familiar feel of the town in which I live. Sure, a small town can be a blessing and a bane at the same time. There’s always people that you’d like to get away from, those that you hope you don’t run into while walking down the street, but you also lose the familiar places and faces that warm you inside. I went to my favorite breakfast dig today for an omelette (Depot Garden, B St. SR) and a good read in the sun (Live from Baghdad – Robert Wiener), and the wonderful girl there remembered me after five months…brought me my favorite tea without even asking, and it was just so perfect, so comfortable. And sure, I’ll find new comforts and new familiarities in Edinburgh, but you know us Taureans. Change is hard and we want it all, all the time. Think it’s a curse?

So I’m enjoying it while I can, while I’m still here. And of course I’ll miss it.

Hmmm. Was it a lewd and lascivious encounter in the seedy underbelly of the City? Then definitely! How you doin'?

Lewd and lascivious?! Oh my! Girls like me aren't like that… unless you ask nicely.
Things are going well on this end of the bay. There is mucho happiness in my life at the moment. I'm just hoping it stays that way for a while. When do you leave for Scotland? We should hang out sometime. I haven't seen ya since that party at Artlyn's a longass time ago.

So glad to hear about good things with you! Yup, August 19th is the proposed date of departure. I'm driving out to Detroit to see my family and jetting it over from there.
I would absolutely love to see you on even more than one occasion before I go! I plan on having at least one bash before I'm outta here, but perhaps a night in the City might be in order far before that?
