Drubbing and Things.

It’s 5:00 AM in Edinburgh. I just got back from a night at the Brass Monkey, and I need to tell everyone that doesn’t know just how amazing that place is. All my thanks and respect go to Martin, who stayed up with us after working a double shift, closed doors and all, to watch the live fights from Vegas tonight.

James “Lights Out” Toney is now called The Miracle Man in my book, after flooring and stopping Evander Holyfield in the 9th. That Detroiter is one bad boy, coming up from middleweight to 190 lbs, beating the best cruiserweight in the world, knocking him down, almost stopping him cold, and now he KO’s the legendary but faded Holyfield. He was a MIDDLEWEIGHT. That’s almost 75 pounds he’s put on since the mid-90s. But clearly, the man wears it well…

Martin allowed us in at the last minute, let us stay until later than late, and gave me a free pint, to boot. That was my first live fight in two months, and it looks like I’ll have a regular place to watch from time to time; I’m to give him a schedule and call the gang forth. We sat in front of the fireplace and cheered and wailed and dropped our jaws when Toney did it. I will support this place in *any* way I can.

This is completely unrelated to your post, but I wanted to share something with you.
I have an internship at the National Parks' Archaeology lab in the Presidio, and I'm working for Leo Barker. Somehow a couple weeks ago you came up, as he had to take his kid to Gamescape to pick up some Warhammer supplies.
I never met the kid, but apparantly he was surprised to hear that you and I know each other. Leo definitely was. Funny stuff, eh?

    Small world, eh?
If I wasn't doing what I am now over here, I'd be there with Leo and the multitude of wondrous items in the Presidio archives. He's an amazing guy, and I love his boy a good deal, as well. I implore you to please give Leo and Wes my very best, and tell them they are well-regarded and missed out here.
And good to hear from you; I hope you enjoy your time there. You're working with the absolute best.
