Real Life Again.

What a week, and so much to tell.

I’m busily sifting through the pictures from our Culloden excursion and penning a solid account that actually does justice to the experience. Please be patient while I get my proverbial shit together and dig the moor out from beneath my fingernails. As well, there’ll be a small barrage of stuff here in the next week or so – a cascade of collated endings to projects long-ago started and finally put down. Stay tuned for more as it comes, if you have the time!

I found a book in Inverness that is a pleasant aside from my normal course of study; ‘Scottish Fairy Belief’ is done within the shroud of academia and is a fine crossover of the ‘non-substantial’ Humanities as a sociological examination. And it’s nice to see ol’ Alan Dundes used as a constant reference within; I enjoyed my brief time with him over at Cal. He is surely the most capable folklorist alive.

Thanks to Moira for digging up this little encapsulation of what’s been happening over near Drumossie. We actually got to speak with some of the folk responsible for undertaking the massive rehabilitation project. I’ll have some time to explain further some of the ‘efforts’ and “revamping” a bit later.

How pleased am I to see this little gem…and to know that we get first crack at it over here in the UK? So nice to see them producing on their own schedule, in the way they want to, and with no record label breathing down their throats or crafting them into a mockery of what they desire to be. Find out more here.

And finally, care of the lovely pvcvirus, a must see for all critics of this strange pseudo-musical movement that we call EBM. Yes, I can’t help but dance to it, too. It’s not my fault. But it can be silly, especially lyrically.

More soon!
