Darren’s Pleasure Palace.

So we have these designs on a home, see. After a week and one-half of trolling around San Francisco and flash-viewing antiseptic, hotel-style hovels and a sea of Chinese landlords all looking at us like we were going to sacrifice goats on their front driveways, we happened upon the most lovely, perfect potential abode that we could have ever imagined.

Dear angledge and evilfb have been spending much of their days scrolling Craig’s List for possible locations, and we had hoped to settle in by the 1st of this coming month…the days were running out, and then all of a sudden – BOOM! There it was. I could go on and on and on about how splendidly marvelous the place is, but I only fear I would jinx our possibilities, so I’ll just say that you’re going to want to come over and maybe never leave.

We were the second group to come view the flat, the first to get applications (turned in complete the very next day), and the landlord’s mother showed it to us twice in one day – we were literally bounding through the place, giggling like schoolgirls amidst great gasps and puddles of drool. Shouts of ‘PERFECT!’ and ‘OHMIGOD’ continually made our host laugh out loud, but we were too enthralled with picking out our potential rooms to really notice. It seems there’re no real reasons why we *wouldn’t* get it. But the fear remains, none of us are getting much sleep, and we’re scared as hell to be passed over because nothing in the entire city could match up to it. Funny how we set these standards…let’s hope it’s not a disappointment, because this one is a keeper. Really, it’s more than we could have ever hoped for.

If all goes well, we’ll know by Thanksgiving, and we’ll all have something extra to be SERIOUSLY thankful for.

And hey, it will totally make reparations for the Culloden gig. 🙂

Man, I'd love to. It really depends on if the whole store scatters after the 1st of the year. Some weird stuff is brewing, and I'm not sure what's going on quite yet. Of course you'll be the first to know…
    Hope you're doing well…

I have been stalking your journal for a while, never quite sure how to pop in and say, "Hi! I know I haven't spoken to you in like eight years, but how are you?"…but still getting to catch up with you (and some others) in a very voyeuristic way. One sided, but fascinating, educational, and charming.
However, for some reason I am in something of a reminiscent mood this evening, and I recalled earlier a conversation you and I had about a million lifetimes ago. I remembered you saying nice/pleasant/kind things to me, which helped the fucked up little nineteen-year-old out quite a lot. And I thought that I could come out of creepy lurker mode and in some wee way return the favor…so here I am throwing my hat in the ring and telling you that I will light a candle, have a shot, close my eyes and hope you get the place. I have felt that way before, (not the least of which about the place I am in now) so I get that sense of where you are at.
You’ll get it. You deserve it.

Geez, Kim. SO good to see you again, and what a total surprise!
It's very kind of you to think back to all those years ago and remember our good chats, and I'm very pleased (and honored, too) that you still hold some of it dear. They were good times, and more innocent times, weren't they?
Of course I've added you to my Friends list now, and I'll be keenly interested in seeing how you've been and what's new after all this time – good AND bad. Your heartfelt good wishes mean a lot to me, and I'm confident that with your optimism, we'll get into our place and soon after will have you over for LONG-overdue tea and conversation.
I hope that you remain well, and thank you very much for popping in. It's really good to see you.

    Re: We must get it..
    Indeed.
The repetitive, 25-second dreams are starting to hit now, and it's almost more than I can take. I can't figure out if I dreamt that we got it, or we really did, and this happens like five times every morning.
Oh, I hope he gets us in there before the weekend…
