Louder than Lunch.

It’s obvious from the playlist of songs I chose at my very first karaoke experience, I might be making a mistake with my interest in girls.

1) Sister ChristianNight Ranger
2) There is a Light that Never Goes OutThe Smiths
3) Careless WhisperGeorge Michael
4) I Touch MyselfThe Divinyls

Oh my, who knew I could sing?

NOBODY, because I cannot.

I love "I Touch Myself." And I don't care who knows it. Did you make, you know, a master so you can produce demo copies of it? Because I'd love to hear that. Or hey, why don't you start a Live365 station with just you doing karaoke versions of stuff?

I fear the master tape would have melted upon contact with any working stereo. This is not something that I would proudly tout – it's a confessional, really, and I'm looking for sympathy.
The idea of a radio station that plays: "ALL DARREN, ALL THE TIME" is a terrible, terrible thing. I would lose friends. I would lose even more of my soul. It's a great idea!

    Ack! sorry I missed that!
I do a mean Ah-Ha myself when prodded with the correct beverages.

I must admit I have regaled my family with a touching rendition of "Careless Whisper" in the car before. I think I lasted about a minute before they hit the gong and threatened my physical well being.

HA! That summons forth one hilarious visual. If you were driving, there should be a priority rule that lets you override the gonging.

i would have paid to see you do "i touch myself". what did you wear? and did you writhe around on the floor?

No writhing, just a lot of licking the microphone!
I assure you that EONS of practice could never make this travesty acceptable.

i don't think we want it to be "acceptable"!

You think? The video was filmed at my alma mater in high school, so I have a special bond with that particular sect of hairy boys. It felt good to belt it out – a tribute of sorts.

Shall we cue up a duet, perhaps?
Would that be considered mutual masturbation?

    Awesome.
If I ever see "I Touch Myself" available at any karaoke place in Japan I will absolutly HAVE to perform it.

I'm quite sure that alarms would then sound.
Either you'd get arrested, or receive colorful prizes from the local populace.

Undoubtedly, you would have felt a little of both. Hell, I *saw* it and I feel a little of both.
It's like watching one's innocence being frittered away.
